Sofas

The Chesterfield sofa is believed to have originated in the mid-18th century, commissioned by Lord Philip Stanhope, the 4th Earl of Chesterfield, who wanted a comfortable sofa with a low seat and high back to allow gentlemen to sit upright without wrinkling their clothes; the design, featuring deep button tufting and rolled arms, became synonymous with luxury and is named after the Earl due to his status as a trendsetter at the time. This design will be a classic hundreds of years into the future and good examples appreciate in value over time.
